photos taken on 4/10.
we spent lots of time hanging out on our little patio.
we have lots of new sprouts in our garden & the succulents were looking especially adorable. i think they would have to be my favorite plant catagory after cactus.
kitten little napped in her favorite spot... on the fridge.
we had delicious kale & spinach sandwhiches with all the vegetables that could balance on the bread... yum yum.
how did you spend your weekend?
morning coffee. i broke my beloved coffee glass a few days ago, so bummed. they were originally a wedding gift to us, but slowly over the past 10 & 1/2 years we have broken 5 of the 6 that came in the set. on the bright side, we are planning a little afternoon date to go hunting for new coffee glasses. until then, i am using my favorite handmade cup.
wild parrots hanging out in the palm trees in our front yard... i think they were eating bugs off of them & make quite the squawk while they were.
kitten little making herself nice & cozy right in the middle of the creative mayhem on my studio table... & do you notice that "i dare you to make me move" look she is giving me?
"oh, what? your going to try & work. well let me move to an area thats close enough to be in the way, but still far enough away that you would feel bad making me move." such is the life when living with a kitten little.
a funny kitten little story: we have a small crate for her to sleep in... she knows its her house, if she is in there no one will bug her, & she goes in & out as she pleases because she can open the door. well, the door got locked & she couldnt get it, so she spent all last night sleeping on top of it.
garden labels. ran has spent the daylight hours this weekend working in our little garden... planting new seeds, transplanting our growing plants to bigger containers, & making these cool labels so i know what everything is. he made them out of palm leaves, bamboo skewers, & paint.
making handstamped fabric ribbon. i need to get some more fabric because its a little addicting.
since the joint re-opened, ran is working 2 jobs, so we only get a whole day to spend together about once a week. it makes me sad... going from spending everyday together to one a day a week, but its also a little fun. since we only get one full day a week together we try & make them count... doing lots of fun things & then spending all of the next week planning our next day together although it doesnt really matter what we do as long as we are together.
this morning, even before our coffees were finished, i was dragging ran out the door for a little nature walk up the street to the ocean. the air was crispy & misty fog was hanging low... a perfect fall morning.
now im ready to cozy up & get creative for the rest of the afternoon. i have some new stuff for the shop that im finishing up, a couple "how to" posts, &... if theres time, maybe cleaning up the house a little =)
whats going on in your day?
the majority of the time when we head for the water the walk we go on starts about two blocks from our house at these stairs...
the broken sidewalk makes it look a bit rough, but we love it all the same. we love to explore in all the rocks before we head on the path.
this walk leads to one of our favorite beaches that we call "log beach" because there a few washed up logs on it (we are really creative like that). we always find such interesting things there... shells, sticks, & rocks.
we love that there are hardly ever any other people around. we can just enjoy the loud crashing waves & the beautiful views.
hello. hello.
today is just an absolute beautiful day... warm, blue skies... & my mama is coming for a little visit! im really excited to show her around my new town & explore some new places with her.
i hope everyone had a lovely easter. we are pretty non-traditional when it comes to most holidays & easter was no exception. the most important thing to us is just spending time together so thats what we did. we walked down to the water & spent the afternoon finding treasures in the rocks & watching the waves come in. i am always so surprised by how big the waves can get & the thunderous sound they make... i love it. we came home & ate burritos for dinner then spent the evening watching scrubs (i love netflix).
ill be back later with some music for your monday...
i live by the beach with my best friend & our little family who refer to as "the pack." i am a music loving creative soul who over uses "..." when blogging
