our perfect thursday evening.

coffees, music, john stewart, making art, snuggling with pets, laughing at jokes, baking biscuits, doing taxes, & self portraits.

thankful for...

its an extra long list because, in my fog of misery, i forgot to post my list last week.

- pandora. 

- nature walks along the shore... so relaxing & meditative. 

- my espresso machine. it makes my 4-iced-coffees-a-day habit both convenient & affordable.

- spending the afternoons with my adorable sleepy pets. it makes me incredibly happy to see them all cozied up, napping away.

- the interwebs. thanks goodness for the interwebs. & google.

- that i can go a whole month & only spend $20 in gas... yeah for a walking community!

- randy. he's pretty much the greatest person in the world... at least in my opinion. 

- laundry facilities on-site. sooo much better than sitting in the car while you wait outside the laundromat.

- my amazing family. we may not be the call everyday type of family, but when you need them they are there & thats what matters. 

- sour patch kids. my go-to snack when feeling sick.

- being able to take the trash out... barefoot.

- blick. the greatest art store, lots of great selection, lots of great prices, & 10% off all my purchases!

- my vacuum for making my carpets animal hair free... mostly.

-bobby pins. i wear one everyday regardless of if my hair is up or down.

a two coffee morning.

you know the kind where you wake up to dishes left in the sink from the night before, a pile of clean clothes needing to be put away, a pile of dirty clothes waiting to be washed, a trash that needs to be emptied. then you make a list of things that need to be done including all the things that arent staring you in the face like the above mentioned list & your first reaction is just to crawl back in bed... especially after you realize that in order to finish the highest priority things you must first make a trip to the store that is guaranteed to take a minimum of 45 minutes roundtrip.

that was my morning yesterday.

instead of crawling back in bed i took a long shower, made myself a second coffee, & decided that maybe if i took pictures throughout my day as im busy checking off the things on my list it would make my day more interesting & perhaps even change my perspective a little.

... once i got started, things brightened up, & i got almost everything done.

today my plans include a trip to the post office, getting some milk & coffee at the grocery store, & then spending the whole afternoon / evening in my pj's listening to pandora & crafting.

spending a crispy fall morning cuddled up on the couch with the pack while enjoying my coffee. perfect.

what made you absolutely happy today?

misty autumn morning.

this morning, even before our coffees were finished, i was dragging ran out the door for a little nature walk up the street to the ocean. the air was crispy & misty fog was hanging low... a perfect fall morning. 

now im ready to cozy up & get creative for the rest of the afternoon. i have some new stuff for the shop that im finishing up, a couple "how to" posts, &... if theres time, maybe cleaning up the house a little =)

whats going on in your day?

a heart shaped heirloom tomato that ran brought home from work for me... i like to think that he was thinking of me while he was working & wanting to be sweet, but then he told me it was going to get massacred by the lawn mower so thats why he picked it.

ran planted some of the seeds for me so hopefully we can grow our own heirlooms.

finding the pervious nights project still waiting for me the next morning (in this case its a good thing).

this is the response i got from ran after telling him about how i dont want to die in a really slow painful way (i know, grim subject).

"i dont think thats how youre gonna go."

"you think its gonna be a heart attack?"

"no"

"a stroke?"

"no"

"you think im gonna choke on a sandwich?"

"no. you could go crazy."
