little bits about us...

first a little background & then some little bit about us...ran & i met during my senior year in high school, got engaged the summer after i graduated (he was still in high school), & got married the summer of 2001... we were both 19. we moved from our home town to bellingham where ran finished his ba at western, then we moved to syracuse so he could work on his masters at su, which he got in 2010. in january 2011, after floundering a bit & not really knowing what to do in our new post student lives, we decided to back up & get the heck out. we ended up in southern california & it has been the best decision we have ever made. we both kind of wish we would have bypassed school & just got straight to beach living. 

our perfect home would just be one big room. we love to hunt for treasures at thrift store & the swap meet. we tend to watch the same things over & over & over again... weeds, king of the hill, & south park. when we need a break from those three we watch john stewart, the colbert report, storage wars, & shark tank. we both prefer texting over phone calls. our favorite activity is going to the beach, but we love any sort of adventures. we are both advocates for peace & love & are working hard to chase our dreams of being independent artists.

i would rather listen to music than watch tv. my favorite foods are anything mexican & rice crispy treats... i like them to be a little on the mallow-y side. on average i only brush my hair about once a week. burts bees is my favorite chapstick & i never leave the house without mascara on. the best concert i ever went to was carlos santana & my favorite musical artist is regina spektor. im not a morning person... never have been (ask my mama) & never will be. im really not a fan of meat... never have been (ask my mama) & never will be. i think the fall season is magical. i run a little etsy shop here & sell my handmade goods at local markets.

he's been my best friend since 1999.  he wore a hat almost every single day for four years when we lived in syracuse. he is the literal definition of an anti-social networker (someone who has social network accounts, like on facebook, but then never responds to anything). he wears stripes everyday. he has slept naked on a big slab of wet clay & one time, for an entire month, he walked around with clay in all four pockets of his jeans. he has been sporting that great beard for about four years... i hope he never gets rid of it. he is the funniest person i know & the best person (in my opinion) to go on adventures with. you can see more of his work here.

she joined the pack in 2005 when she was 6 weeks old. her official name is darcie, but she has many many nick names including budgie-licious, b, b-rye, & darcie dog. she loves to swim in the ocean & get crazy dirty in the sand. if she is hungry she will bring her food bowl to you... same thing if she runs out of water. she loves to get lots of pets & brushed. she also really liks to wear t-shirts, sweaters, & bandanas. her favorite activities include going for walks, begging for snacks, barking really high-pitched at kitten little, snuggling on the couch, barking at the mailman, & chewing on her toys.

she joined the pack in 2010 when she was 12 weeks old. her official name is tittens, but she also has many nicknames like, little baby tittens, t, & titterella. she loves to sit in the window & keep an eye out for her nemisis... crow. she loves to spend her evenings outside hunting bugs. she takes alot of naps in the sun or in her bed surrounded by stuffed animals. she gets really cranky when there is not enough food in her bowl to cover the entire bottom & really prefers the pups food over her own. if left unattended she likes to play in the toilet, see how high she climb on the shelves, & do other naughty things she knows she should not be doing, but thats the titten way.

so now that you know some bits about us, we would love to get to know you! i find it a little hard to respond to comments in an email form so i often reply to them in the comment thread.
