last week we were lucky enough to become the owners of this little beauty...
ran had been searching craigslist for used kilns but they seemed to be either too old, very large, required an outlet that we dont have, or just way out our budget. after months of searching he came across this one... never been used, small, works in our outlets, & fit our budget. seems to to good to be true. we emailed the guy, made a date to come look at it, & when we got there it was even better than we thought! all the manuals were included & all the small parts were still in the originally packaging. sold! it now has a brand new home in my kitchen (dont worry, we will be firing it outside). now that we have the kiln, of course, the first thing i want to do it go get some clay & get busy, but ran is being responsible & getting the rest of studio set up first... making plaster batts, molds, drying shelves, etc. you know, all the stuff you take for granted when your in school.
when we do finally fire it up, after some test firings, he will be making some custom work for the joint & then we have some classes tentatively lined for later this summer... so exciting!
So awesome! Happy for you!
